Late summer casts a particular light across southeast Calgary, long and low over the Bow. On Saturday, August 22, that light falls on something new. Logan Landing is opening its park to a day of art, set against the storm pond and the open green at the centre of the community.
The unveiling, 12:00 to 1:00 PM
The day begins with a new public art installation by Svea Ferguson. You can walk around it, return to it, and see it differently as the afternoon moves. It’s the first piece of its kind at Logan Landing, and the moment around which the rest of the afternoon is built.
The afternoon, 1:00 to 5:00 PM
From one o’clock, the park becomes a working canvas. Muralist Tiffany Cuffley paints in real time. Henna artists and crafting stations for beading and keychains invite you to make something of your own. Face painting keeps younger visitors busy, and more waits for you as you wander.
Bring a blanket. Take your time. Stay for the light.
Why Logan Landing
An afternoon like this says more about a place than any floor plan can. Genesis Land built Logan Landing around water, pathways, green space, and Canada’s largest native plant rescue site.
