Diwali is a festival about light, togetherness, and fresh starts, and this year Huxley is celebrating a few days early. On Thursday, November 5th, we’re hosting the Huxley Diwali Celebration, a free community evening in NE Calgary with fireworks, henna, multicultural food, and showhome tours from three of Huxley’s home builders.

A Celebration for the Whole Community
Known as the Festival of Lights, Diwali is celebrated by families across the world. It marks the victory of light over darkness, and it’s a time for gathering with loved ones, sharing food, and lighting up homes and streets.
This year, Diwali falls on Sunday, November 8. Our celebration kicks off the festival season a few days ahead, giving everyone in Calgary a chance to share in it together. Huxley sits in the heart of Calgary’s northeast, one of the most diverse parts of the city, and this evening is a reflection of the people who already call this area home. It’s open to everyone, no matter your background.

Plan Your Visit
The Huxley Diwali Celebration runs from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and you’re welcome to come for as long as you like. A few tips to make the most of your evening:
- Dress warmly. It will be dark by the time the celebration starts, and November evenings in Calgary can be cool.
- Arrive early to try the henna station and food before the fireworks.
- Register ahead so we can plan for everyone. It’s free and only takes a minute.
