There are a lot of ways to measure a year in community development. Lots sold. Homes started. Shovels in the ground. Those numbers matter, but they don’t tell you much about whether you built somewhere people actually want to live.
Being named Developer of the Year at the Pinnacle Awards told us something the numbers couldn’t.
An Honour Shared Across a Lot of Hands
Receiving the Pinnacle Award is a genuine honour, and it isn’t one we hold on our own. It recognizes the hard work, collaboration, and commitment of our entire team, alongside our builder and industry partners, in creating exceptional communities.
Community development is a long game played by a lot of people. Planners and engineers who spend months on a road alignment nobody will ever notice. Builders who hold the line on quality when it would be easier not to. Trades and consultants and municipal partners who make the difficult parts work. Sales teams who listen to what a family needs before showing them a single lot.
An award with one name on it is really a reflection of all of them.
Recognition That Lines Up With Creating Tomorrows
Creating Tomorrows has never been a tagline we’ve just hung on a sign. It’s a way of thinking about time.
It means building communities where people can thrive today and for years to come. It means asking what a neighbourhood will feel like in fifteen years, not just how it photographs on launch weekend. It means planning for the pathway connections, the gathering places, and the amenities that turn a collection of addresses into somewhere people belong.
The Pinnacle Award reflects our commitment to thoughtful planning, to quality, to building places meant to last. It’s recognition that the long view was the right view.
What We’re Really Proud Of
Ask anyone on our team what the award recognizes, and the answer comes back quickly: our commitment to building vibrant, well-designed communities that bring people together and feel like home.
That’s the work. Not the lots, the communities. The difference between the two is everything we care about.
“This one belongs to the team, plain and simple. Long before our communities became a places people wanted to call home, it takes years of planning work, engineering, and work from many on our team along with our partners and builders. Add in our team members who volunteer their time on committees and boards – not because they have to – but because it matters to them, and it’s easy to see why our team was deserving of this recognition.”

A Big Thank You
To our builder partners, our industry colleagues, our municipal partners, and every homeowner who chose to build a life in a Genesis community: thank you. This one belongs to all of you.
A new Developer of the Year will be named soon. Until then, we’re grateful for the recognition, and we’re already back at work on what comes next.
