Getting to Know the Community of Saddlestone

The master-planned community of Saddlestone, has been a picturesque home to many Calgarians for years now, but with an influx of new residents this past year, and newly-built homes recently becoming available in the area, let’s get to know a little about this northeast neighbourhood.

Saddlestone is an environmentally-friendly community that offers both tranquility and convenience, keeping in mind families, culture and sustainability. Genesis Land actually developed the community of Saddlestone with a fused grid design, which is the first of its kind in Canada. This type of design promotes a pedestrian-friendly, eco-friendly and family-friendly environment balancing efficiency for both vehicles and walking commuters.

The design creates a tranquil and safe neighbourhood giving more opportunity for families and children to enjoy green spaces and increases the amount of pathways and the potential for social interaction. [Calgary Sun]

It’s no surprise so many people are choosing this area to be home, with its close proximity to restaurants and stores in the Saddletowne shopping centre, the Calgary Public Library and extensive YMCA. Plus, Saddlestone has three new schools under construction for the area: an elementary, middle and high school. Not to mention, the community’s easy access to destinations like CrossIron Mills Shopping Centre or the Calgary International Airport.
Another benefit of living in Saddlestone, is the Genesis Centre, a full-service recreation and wellness facility that we are proud to share a name with. In addition to offering fitness, health and recreation services, the complex provides facilities for cultural events and indoor and outdoor soccer fields. It also provides access to a range of human and social services through 1000 Voices, a community and human services wing inside the facility.
Last month, we opened up three new showhomes in Saddlestone: BentleighCarlton and Windsor. This is the latest to open up in phase seven of the community, with the release of 119 lots, which are already over 50% sold. These new homes are two-storey, front-attached garage homes, starting in the $510s.
Our Saddlestone showhomes are located at 51 Saddlelake Way NE, and they are open Monday to Thursday from 2 pm to 8 pm; Fridays by appointment and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 12 pm to 5 pm.
