BILD Awards Winner – Lewiston, Calgary’s New Community of the Year

When we design a community, it’s about more than just building homes — it’s about creating a place where people will put down roots, raise families, and make lifelong memories. Every community we’ve brought to life holds a special place in our hearts, and we’re incredibly proud when our hard work pays off.

That’s why we’re thrilled to share that Lewiston has been named New Community of the Year by the BILD Awards.

Lewiston is proof that when vision meets purpose, incredible things can happen.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped make Lewiston a reality — from the Genesis Land team and our builder partners to the many businesses that collaborate with us in developing vibrant, welcoming spaces.

If you haven’t had a chance to explore this exciting new community in Calgary’s northeast, now’s the perfect time.

With its extensive pathway system, lush green spaces, and a naturalized stream corridor, Lewiston invites you to enjoy the outdoors while staying close to the urban amenities you need. The green spaces in our communities are also meant to inspire an appreciation of nature, which is why they’re designed with sustainability in mind.

Whether you’re looking for outdoor activities with your kids, a great spot for morning walks or a place for an afternoon picnic, you’ll find all the outdoor space you need. Lewiston boasts beautiful, lush green spaces meant to inspire an appreciation of nature, incorporating hardy trees like elms and ash that provide long-term shade and canopy cover.  There are four local parks and a 30 acre wetland area. You’ll find a naturalized stream with a running trail that runs alongside it as well as a state-of-the-art Nautilus Storm pond that you can walk, bike or rollerblade around.

Sustainability was a main focus when Lewiston was designed, keeping the community well-balanced with the natural environment. By enhancing the existing drainage course and wetland, the restoration of natural areas within Lewiston will increase biodiversity, create unique riparian habitats, and provide both passive and active recreation options for residents and visitors. Combined with the planting of 2000+ trees, the development of the Nautilus Storm Park, and providing opportunities for GHG emissions reductions in housing, Genesis is ensuring future residents reap the benefits of an environmentally conscious community.

Not only will residents feel connected to nature, they will feel connected to each other. The close-knit community feeling is something that is important when planting your roots and raising your family. You’ll feel safe as you explore the neighbourhood with your family, letting your kids make life-long friends and memories. A Neighbourhood Activity Centre will be the hub of the community and incorporate both commercial and multi-residential opportunities.

Spend time in Lewiston and access major roadways to easily get to work, friends and other adventures. You can get to Stoney Trail and Deerfoot Trail quickly, you’re less than 15 minutes from the Calgary International Airport and you can get anywhere you need to be including downtown in 20 minutes, Airdrie in 15 minutes and the mountains in 45 minutes. Your home base is in Lewiston, but the rest of the world is just in your backyard.

Winning New Community of the Year is just the beginning. We’re excited to watch Lewiston grow and flourish as more families choose to call it home.
