Fire Safety Day in Airdrie

In honour of Fire Prevention Week kicking off next Monday, The City of Airdrie, Airdrie Fire Department and ATCO Gas are teaming up to present Fire Safety Day in Airdrie this Saturday.

Fire Prevention Week runs from October 5 to 11, with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) joining forces with fire departments across Canada to remind people about smoke alarm importance and fire safety.

According to the latest NFPA research, working smoke alarms cut the chance of dying in a fire in half. Meanwhile, almost two-thirds of home fire deaths resulted from fires in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms. — City of Airdrie
