How to ring in NYE in Calgary & Airdrie

It’s hard to believe, but 2016 is coming to a close this weekend, and if you haven’t made plans to ring in the New Year yet, we’ve got you covered. Here’s some of the family-friendly celebrations happening in Calgary and Airdrie this weekend to help you welcome 2017:

AIRDRIE

  • New Year’s fireworks: the fireworks will be happening on December 31 at Ed Eggerer Athletic Park at 6:30 pm. More information
  • Family-friendly NYE party: head to the Airdrie Festival of Lights heated tent on December 31 at 7pm, for family-friendly games, music and more. More information

CALGARY

  • City of Calgary NYE fireworks: head to Olympic Plaza at 8 pm on December 31 for a fireworks display put on by the City of Calgary. More information
  • Noon Year’s Eve: celebrate “noon year’s eve” at Telus Spark from 9am to 5pm on December 31. More information
  • Zoo Year’s Eve: opt out of traditional fireworks for Zoolights at the Calgary Zoo from 6 to 9 pm on December 31. More information
  • NYE family pool celebration: head to the Village Square Leisure Centre for family swimming featuring games a DJ and more. Event is taking place December 31 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. More information
  • NYE family party: head to Southland Leisure Centre for games, a DJ swim in the wave pool and much more. The event is taking place on December 31 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. More information
  • Calgary Flames game: the New Year’s Eve game will be taking place at the Saddledome, where Calgary takes on the Coyotes at 8 pm. More information
